Job summary

SGS TESTING & CONTROL SERVICES SINGAPORE PTE LTD is seeking a Laboratory Analyst to conduct tests and analyses in compliance with established standards. You will prepare reagents, review results, and act as a witness for third-party and refinery labs at site or field assignments.

The role requires a Diploma in science-related fields and hands-on experience with gas chromatography, along with strong attention to detail, time management, and teamwork. Overtime may be required.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or related field; 1 year in Oil, Gas & Chemical lab preferred.
• Good knowledge of laboratory processes and safe handling of chemicals.
• Experience with Gas Chromatography and other analytical instruments.
• Attention to detail with strong time management.
• Results- and service-oriented mindset.
• Team player with a positive working attitude.
• Ability to multi-task and work independently under tight timelines.

Responsibilities

• Conduct laboratory tests and analyses per established standards and record findings accurately.
• Perform analyses at site laboratories or during field assignments.
• Prepare and standardize reagents and test solutions.
• Review results and repeat if suspicious.
• Represent the Laboratory as witness at third party and refinery labs.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety of laboratory, equipment and materials.
• Assist in training new Analysts where assigned.
• Perform shift work and overtime when required.
• Carry out tasks as assigned by supervisor.
• Apply SGS ethics and integrity in all actions.
