Job summary

BW Offshore is seeking an Offshore Technical Assurance Specialist (Electrical, Instrumentation and Telecommunications) to join the Operational Governance team. The role provides independent insight into electrical, control, automation and telecom systems to enable safe, reliable offshore operations across BW Offshore's global fleet.

Qualifications

• Degree or professional certification in Electrical, Instrumentation, Control Systems, Automation, Telecommunications or related engineering.
• Minimum 10 years' experience in offshore oil and gas or high-hazard industry with significant EIT experience.
• Experience in assurance, auditing, reliability improvement, asset integrity management or operational performance improvement.

Responsibilities

• Deliver EIT assurance activities across BW Offshore's global fleet under the Technical Assurance Program.
• Offshore assurance visits and testing Work as Imagined against Work as Performed.
• Provide independent insight on electrical, instrumentation, control and telecommunications systems.
• Verify workforce competence assessment processes and promote consistent assurance standards.
• Identify weak signals, emerging risks and opportunities to improve system reliability and operational performance.
• Influence leaders and frontline teams through coaching and constructive engagement.
• Drive closure of assurance findings and support risk escalation where required.
• Shape the future of assurance through continuous improvement and innovative approaches.

We are looking for an Offshore Technical Assurance Specialist (Electrical, Instrumentation and Telecommunications) to join BW Offshore's Operational Governance team. This is a unique opportunity for an experienced EIT professional to work across our global fleet, providing independent insight into the effectiveness of electrical, control, automation and telecommunications systems that enable safe and reliable operations. The role combines offshore exposure, engagement with senior leadership, and the opportunity to help shape a modern, risk-based assurance function focused on operational excellence, learning and continuous improvement.

The position is part of the Operations Function and reports to the Asset Assurance Manager within BW Offshore's Operational Governance organisation.

Key Tasks And Responsibilities

• Deliver EIT assurance activities across BW Offshore's global fleet under the Technical Assurance Program
• Conduct offshore assurance visits, testing Work as Imagined against Work as Performed
• Provide independent insight on the effectiveness of electrical, instrumentation, control and telecommunications systems

• Identify weak signals, emerging risks and opportunities to improve system reliability and operational performance

Qualifications

• Degree, recognised trade qualification or professional certification in Electrical, Instrumentation, Control Systems, Automation, Telecommunications or a related engineering discipline
• Minimum 10 years' experience in offshore oil and gas or another high-hazard industry, with significant EIT experience
• Experience in assurance, verification, auditing, reliability improvement, asset integrity management or operational performance improvement

Skills

• Strong communication, facilitation and stakeholder engagement skills
• Ability to build trust, challenge constructively and maintain independent judgement
• Strong understanding of electrical power systems, instrumentation, control systems, automation, telecommunications and risk management principles
• Fluent in written and spoken English
