Job summary

PH Hydraulics & Engineering Pte Ltd in Singapore is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to design and develop customised equipment for offshore installations. You will own projects from concept to detail design, ensuring work is completed on schedule and to customer requirements.

You will perform 3D modelling, FEA, and detailed production drawings in AutoCAD, prepare FMECA reports, and ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and classification rules.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering with at least 5 years of relevant experience in heavy mechanical structures and drive systems.
• Experience liaising with customers and translating technical requirements into practical engineering solutions.
• Proficient in AutoCAD with the ability to produce detailed production engineering drawings.
• Proficient in 3D modelling and Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
• Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering calculations and component selection.
• Experience with ABS, DNV, and/or BV classification rules, codes, and standards.
• Experience in preparing FMECA documentation and technical reports.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
• Positive attitude, self-motivated, and willing to take on new technical challenges

Responsibilities

• Design and develop a wide range of customised mechanical equipment, primarily for offshore installations.
• Take ownership of assigned engineering projects and ensure work is completed efficiently and within the planned schedule.
• Develop practical and reliable engineering solutions based on project and customer requirements.
• Liaise directly with customers on technical specifications, design requirements, and engineering solutions.
• Prepare and review detailed production engineering drawings and design documentation.
• Perform mechanical engineering calculations, component selection, 3D modelling, and Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
• Work closely with the Sales, Projects, and Operations teams to ensure smooth project execution.
• Prepare technical documentation, including FMECA reports and engineering reports.
• Ensure designs and engineering processes comply with applicable ISO 9001 requirements and relevant classification rules and standards.
