Job summary

A leading organization in Singapore is seeking an Occupational Therapist to provide clinical services, conduct assessments, and develop intervention plans for students. This role involves collaboration with families and teams, as well as mentoring junior staff. Ideal candidates will hold a recognized degree and have relevant experience in special education.

Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of relevant working experience for Senior Therapist position.
  • Experience working in special education or with individuals with special needs is an advantage.

Job description

Working Location: Bukit Batok

Working Hours: 7 am to 4 pm (Mondays to Fridays)

Job responsibilities

Clinical services:
  • Utilize appropriate assessment tools to identify occupational therapy needs and conduct occupational therapy related assessments
  • Identify goals for intervention and implement individualised intervention plans in collaboration with the student, families and the school team.
  • Management of caseloads to provide consultation, individual and/or group evidence-based interventions in collaboration with teachers and families, or external services where necessary.
  • Conduct continuous evaluation to measure outcomes of therapeutic interventions.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of assessment, intervention, and communication with families.
  • Participate in developing protocols and clinical guidelines to improve services in conjunction with the Head of Student Support/Principal.
  • Participate in curriculum / programme development projects, particularly in the area of sensory regulation, handwriting, physical development, daily living skills, vocational skills etc.
  • Participate in team assessment for school admissions.
  • Utilize appropriate assessment tools to support and recommend occupational therapy related access arrangements for National Exams, if required.

Coaching & Training
  • Conduct parent workshops and in-house training programs for internal and external stakeholders
  • Provide supervision and mentorship support to new / junior therapists.

Continuing Professional Development
  • Stay current with the best practices in relation to the field of occupational therapy and evidence-based practices in relation to autism.
  • Participate and engage in ongoing training and professional development opportunities.
  • Remain up to date with relevant organizational processes, policies and professional codes of conduct.

Job Holder Requirements and Attributes
  • Possess a degree / postgraduate degree in Occupational Therapy from an institution recognised by the Allied Health Professional Council, Singapore (AHPC).
  • Applicants for Senior Therapist position should possess at least 5 years of relevant working experience.
  • Valid practising certificate with full AHPC registration.
  • Prior experience working in the field of special education and/or working with individuals with special needs is an added advantage.
  • Good team player with strong communication, interpersonal skills and critical thinking, in order to effectively collaborate and provide person-centric services.
  • Able to work independently and effectively.
