Job description

Job Summary:

Provide essential occupational therapy services and support the Senior Occupational Therapist in the daily operations of Home Therapy. Ensure the delivery of high-quality care in accordance with local regulations and professional guidelines.


Principal Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Assess, develop, implement, and document occupational therapy treatment plans for elderly clients with a range of medical conditions.
  • Conduct home safety assessments, recommend modifications, and prescribe assistive equipment to promote independence and reduce caregiver stress.
  • Provide caregiver training to family members and/or domestic helpers on assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs) within the home environment.
  • Conduct training sessions for staff and volunteers on topics such as home safety, fall prevention, and wheelchair handling skills.
  • Participate in clinical workgroups to contribute to guideline development and program planning.
  • Liaise with caregivers and coordinate referrals to appropriate colleagues or external service providers for suitable care arrangements.
  • Assist the Senior Occupational Therapist in implementing and evaluating clinical programmes.
  • Supervise occupational therapy students during their clinical placements, as assigned.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Minimum Degree in Occupational Therapy from a programme recognized by the Allied Health Professions Council (AHPC), Singapore.
  • Registered Occupational Therapist under the Allied Health Professions Act.
  • 1–3 years of relevant experience in providing occupational therapy services, preferably in the geriatric field.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
