Job summary

RS Recruitment Agency LLP is seeking an Assistant Director of Nursing to support the Director of Nursing in leading nursing operations and ensuring safe, person-centred resident care within a nursing home. Responsibilities

• Support the Director of Nursing in leading and managing the Nursing Department, including daily nursing operations, deployment and policy implementation.
• Provide guidance and supervision to nursing leaders and care staff to ensure safe, compassionate and person-centred care for residents.
• Monitor the quality and standard of nursing care through clinical rounds, audits, observations, documentation reviews, feedback and follow-up actions.
• Ensure residents' nursing assessments, care plans and clinical interventions are regularly reviewed and responsive to their needs.
• Support clinical governance, risk management, incident reporting, investigation and quality-improvement initiatives relating to resident care and safety.
• Assist in ensuring compliance with regulatory, licensing, professional, infection control, documentation and confidentiality requirements.
• Support preparation for MOH, AIC and other regulatory inspections, audits and licensing reviews, including follow-up on findings.
• Work with Human Resources and nursing leaders on recruitment, onboarding, training, competency assessment and staff development.
• Collaborate with medical, allied health, pharmacy, social work, operations, HR, finance and other departments to coordinate resident care and strengthen teamwork.
• Engage residents and families professionally on care-related matters, feedback and service recovery, escalating significant issues where required.
• Support infection prevention and control, emergency preparedness, outbreak management and resident-safety initiatives.
• Maintain accurate nursing records, reports, registers, audit documentation and training records.
• Assist with monitoring nursing resources, equipment, supplies and budget-related matters to ensure efficient use of resources.
• Deputise for the Director of Nursing on operational or clinical matters when assigned and support management updates to committees or the Board.
• Support home-wide projects and quality improvement work as assigned.
