Job summary

MINDS is seeking a Nursing Aide to deliver quality daily care and supervision to residents, following care plans developed by Nursing and Allied Health Professionals. She maintains accurate documentation, provides input for care plan reviews, and ensures adherence to house rules while mitigating risks.

A caring, patient, and responsible professional with strong leadership and team skills, she contributes effectively across voluntary welfare organisations, community, and institutional settings.

Qualifications

• NITEC in Nursing or equivalent qualification.
• ITE Skills Certificate in Healthcare(Home Care)Programme or WSQ nursing care certificates.
• Experience or training related to nursing care is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care to residents (toileting, bathing, dressing, grooming) and assist with meals.
• Monitor and document residents’ health indicators and follow care plans.
• Assist with daily activities and supervision under nursing staff supervision.
• Maintain accurate records and participate in care plan reviews and handovers.
• Support in responding to medical emergencies and ensure adherence to house rules.

Job Description

The Nursing Aide delivers quality daily care and supervision to residents, following care plans developed by Nursing and Allied Health Professionals. She maintains accurate and updated documentation, provides input for care plan reviews, and ensures adherence to house rules while recommending measures to mitigate risks. She also conducts activities that promote residents' health, wellness, and quality of life, and attends to their basic care needs.

A caring, patient, and responsible professional with strong leadership and team skills, she contributes effectively across voluntary welfare organisations, community, and institutional settings.

Provide client care

• Provide personal care assistance to residents in their daily living such as toileting, bathing, dressing and grooming and ensure the residents good personal hygiene at all times.
• Provide supervise or assistance to residents during meal times
• Perform daily activities residents management according to care plans (ICP)
• Prepare residents for their various activities, meal times and bed times
• Assist in giving regular medication and when necessary, other medication under Staff Nurse's supervision with proper recording.
• Ensure the proper records of residents as instructed. (e.g. behaviour records, daily logs, home leave records, etc).
• Ensure that residents diet restrictions are adhered to.
• Monitor and record bowel movement, menstruation, blood pressure, weight and height of residents on a regular interval.
• Conduct body checks on residents on a daily basis.
• Support the intervention during medical emergency of residents
• Maintain up-to-date documentation of clients' conditions and care treatments
• Provide inputs during case review and liaise with healthcare professionals for the development and review of care plans
• Verify accuracy of documentation of client's condition, progress and care treatments
• Review inventory for replenishing in medical supply

Maintain order, safety and cleanliness of the care environment

• Ensure client behaviours are in compliance to house rules
• Respond to unusual or challenging behaviours of clients
• Recommend measures to mitigate risk to clients
• Support the intervention implementation for managing the challenging behaviours.
• Perform housekeeping duties
• Ensure equipment is maintained in a clean and working condition

Manage care operations

• Perform daily handover to staff during changes in shifts
• Provide input to operations review meetings

Perform stakeholder engagement

• Assist in liaising with other professionals, volunteer Doctor, hospital and stakeholders involved in the case to facilitate provision of care services for clients
• Provide client perspectives and needs in development of care plans with professionals and other stakeholders
• Maintenance and updated documents for MSF licensing.

Qualifications

• NITEC in Nursing
• ITE Skills Certificate in Healthcare(Home Care) Programme
• WSQ Certificate in nursing care-related courses and / or relevant work experience in nursing care

Other Information

• Preferably 1-year relevant working experience
• Computer literacy skills - MS Word and PowerPoint.
• Experience working with persons with autism, intellectual and/or developmental disabilities is preferred
• Must be able to commit to work on weekends due to shift work.
