Nurse Manager / Nurse Clinician
The Nurse Manager/Clinician is a dynamic leader responsible for overseeing nursing services within a general hospital. This role encompasses not only the management of nursing staff and clinical operations but also the crucial responsibility of setting up the new hospital.
The Nurse Manager/Clinician must demonstrate strong leadership, clinical expertise, and project management skills to ensure the successful establishment and operation of nursing services in alignment with the hospital's goals and regulatory requirements.
Job Requirements:
Leadership and Management
Provide visionary leadership to nursing staff, fostering a culture of excellence, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
Oversee the recruitment, onboarding, and development of nursing personnel, ensuring the highest standards of clinical competence and professionalism.
Establish clear goals, expectations, and performance metrics for nursing staff, and provide regular feedback and coaching to support their growth and success.
Clinical Oversight
Collaborate with physicians, allied health professionals, and other department heads to develop and implement evidence-based clinical protocols and standards of care.
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, accreditation standards, and best practices in nursing practice, patient safety, and quality improvement.
Monitor patient outcomes, clinical indicators, and patient satisfaction metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement targeted interventions.
Resource Management
Develop staffing models, nursing schedules, and workflow processes to optimize patient care delivery while maximizing efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
Coordinate with supply chain management to ensure adequate availability of medical supplies, equipment, and pharmaceuticals to support nursing operations.
Monitor and manage nursing budgets, identifying opportunities for cost containment and resource optimization.
Quality Improvement
Lead quality improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing patient safety, clinical outcomes, and the patient experience.
Conduct regular audits, reviews, and performance evaluations to identify opportunities for improvement and implement evidence-based practices.
Engage nursing staff in quality improvement projects, promoting a culture of continuous learning, innovation, and accountability.
Education and Training
Develop and implement comprehensive orientation, training, and continuing education programs for nursing staff to ensure competency and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Provide clinical supervision, mentorship, and support to nursing staff, promoting professional growth and development.
Foster interdisciplinary collaboration and communication to enhance care coordination and clinical outcomes.
Hospital set-up
Play a key role in the setup and operationalization of nursing services for the new hospital, including staffing plans, workflow design, and policy development.
Collaborate with architects, designers, and facility planners to ensure the integration of nursing units and infrastructure with clinical best practices and patient-centered care models.
Establish systems and processes for inventory management, equipment procurement, and infection control to support safe and efficient nursing operations from the outset.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in nursing from recognized training institution as approved by Singapore Nursing Board and a post-basic qualification in the relevant nursing specialty.
Singapore Registered Nurse with at least 10 years of post-registration clinical experience, of which 2 years must be in supervisorial position.
Previous experience in nursing management or administration, preferably in a startup or expansion setting
Strong project management, communication, and interpersonal skills
Knowledge of healthcare regulations, accreditation standards, and quality improvement methodologies
