DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Primary Responsibilities and Duties (80%)
- Oversees the team of RN/EN, NA/HCA under her charge.
- Responsible for compliance with all nursing standards as stipulated by MOH and SNB.
- Leads quality assurance activities to monitor and evaluate the quality and appropriateness of nursing care in the ward.
- Ensures quality audits are planned, conducted periodically, and followed up with corrective actions.
- Ensures written policies and SOPs are available and up to date to guide nursing practices.
- Provides direct care to patients to ensure compliance with standards.
- Ensures smooth transition of residents from acute to chronic care and back to the community where possible.
- Ensures appropriate skill mix and adequate manpower resourcing for all shifts and services within her/his purview.
- Directs and facilitates staff development, skills, and competency upgrading through in-house training, approved online learning, or formal education opportunities.
- Guides orientation/induction programs and preceptorship for all new staff.
- Prepares roster and daily staff assignments for the ward/department.
- Supports the HOD in nursing home management and deputizes in her/his absence.
- Collaborates with Allied Health on preventive and rehabilitative programs for residents.
Secondary Responsibilities and Duties (20%)
- Promotes evidence-based practices in nursing care delivery.
- Demonstrates awareness of current nursing and healthcare practices.
- Monitors and analyzes trends and changing needs of patients in institutional settings.
- Carries out any other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
