Job description

We have an opening for a Failure Analysis Lead in the NAND Technology Department in Singapore. We seek a candidate passionate about innovating in failure analysis and curious to ask 'what, how, and why'. In this role, you will provide key feedback and direction on yield improvement activities for NAND memory technology. The position requires high collaboration across all company functions.

As the Yield Failure Analysis Lead in Micron's NAND Technology Integration (NTI) Singapore department, you will lead a team to perform failure analysis for next-generation Micron products. This involves optimizing failure analysis resources to meet technological commitments and collaborating with process, integration, and yield multi-functional teams in both R&D and manufacturing to develop next-generation memory technologies. You will become a domain expert in physical failure analysis methods for electrical failures.

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Managing a team to analyze failures, conduct electrical tests, verify failures, and utilize PFA techniques.
  • Collaborating with global engineering teams and counterparts to identify and implement best-known methods.
  • Driving failure analysis initiatives for yield improvement, developing new methodologies and capabilities.
  • Working with metrology and RDA teams to redefine and validate inline detection capabilities.
  • Developing strategic vision for the department and prioritizing resources accordingly.
  • Conducting performance management through setting targets aligned with department goals and tracking indicators.
  • Completing safety training and ensuring compliance with safety policies while fostering a positive work environment.
  • Promoting collaboration to solve problems, improve efficiency, and enhance quality.

Successful candidates will have:

  • Experience in Process Integration, Yield Improvement, Failure Analysis, Data Science, or related areas in the semiconductor industry.
  • Deep knowledge of nonvolatile memories and their process flows.
  • Operational experience with SEM, FIB, TEM, EDS, and EELS techniques.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, JavaScript, C, or C++, with experience in Windows, Linux, and JMP software being advantageous.
  • Self-motivation and the ability to work in dynamic environments.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and presentation skills.
Experience:

At least 5 years as a Failure Analysis Lead or Manager in Electrical or Physical Failure Analysis within the semiconductor sector.

Education:

M.S. or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Microelectronics, or Materials Science/Engineering.
