A leading company in the manufacturing sector is seeking an NPI Engineer to define processes and manage new product introductions. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in mechanical engineering, excellent problem-solving skills, and a strong background in manufacturing operations. This role encompasses a variety of responsibilities, including designing assembly work instructions, troubleshooting processes, and managing engineering documentation.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of NPI Engineering in manufacturing experience.
• Knowledge in AutoCAD / Solid Edge and ERP preferred.
• Familiar with sheet metal processes including cutting, bending, welding.

Job description

Responsibilities:

• Define Item, Bill of Material & Process routing for new products.
• Establish manufacturing processes and assembly work instructions based on the customer’s specification and provide training to technicians.
• Design Jigs and Fixtures to aid in the manufacturing process, especially on welding.
• Troubleshoot and optimize manufacturing processes.
• Define process required, study and special process or tooling requirements.
• Follow up and evaluate processes on the production floor.
• Develop 3D model and generate 2D flat pattern based on Customer drawing.
• 3D Assembly / Drawing development in Solid Edge (For assembly parts and structures)
• Manage Engineering Change Request (ECR) process for NPI projects, for instance get approval from customers and DFM proposals.
• Implementation of ECN (Engineering Change Notifications) within the company and with manufacturing partners to account for all changes.
• Manage NPI project related customer documentation (drawings, specifications, test procedures, work instructions etc.).
• Project Planning on Engineering Activities
• Able to do technical documentation review, Creation of Process flow & PFMEA.
• Project analysis, Communication with Customers as an expertise.

Requirements:

• The candidate must possess at least Degree or Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical) or equivalent.
• At least 3-5 years of NPI Engineering in manufacturing experience.
• Knowledge in AutoCAD / Solid Edge and ERP preferred.
• Familiar with sheet metal process cutting, bending, welding, and painting processes
• Knowledge & direct experience in electrical and mechanical manufacturing operations, new product introductions, product development and production.
• Able to perform root cause analysis and resolve problems during assembly.
• Good Communication, analytical and organizational skills.
• Independent worker who can work well with minimal supervision.
