Job summary

AMBITION GROUP SINGAPORE PTE. LTD. seeks a skilled electrical engineer to lead the design and release of electrical systems for medical devices. You will translate clinical needs into electrical requirements, drive schematics and PCB work, and ensure compliance with IEC60601 and ISO14971.

You will collaborate with firmware, software, mechanical teams and influence hardware reliability, thermal management, and system integration. Strong leadership and wiring a must.

Qualifications

• Lead design and development of electrical systems for medical devices.
• Translate needs into electrical requirements, schematics and specs.
• Ensure compliance with IEC 60601-1, 60601-1-2, ISO 14971 and related standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, integration, and troubleshooting of electrical systems for medical devices from concept to release.
• Collaborate with firmware, software, mechanical teams to ensure robust hardware integration and reliability.
• Lead electrical verification and validation, risk assessments, and CAPA using lab testing.
• Maintain design documentation to support audits and regulatory submissions.
• Partner with Quality, Regulatory, Manufacturing, suppliers and labs while mentoring engineering teams.
• Adhoc tasks and projects as assigned.

Job description

Job Responsibilities:

• Lead the design, development, integration, and troubleshooting of electrical systems, subsystems, and components for medical devices from concept through product release.
• Translate user, clinical, and system needs into electrical requirements, architecture, schematics, PCB designs, specifications, and supporting technical documentation.
• Design, prototype, test, and qualify analog, digital, power, motor-control, sensor, signal‑conditioning, communication, and embedded control systems.
• Collaborate with firmware, software, mechanical, and cross‑functional teams to ensure robust hardware integration, electromechanical performance, thermal management, and system reliability.
• Lead electrical verification and validation, design FMEAs, risk assessments, root‑cause analyses, and corrective actions using laboratory testing and structured engineering methods.
• Ensure designs meet applicable medical device requirements, including IEC 60601‑1, IEC60601‑1-2, ISO 14971, design controls, EMC/EMI, electrical safety, and other relevant standards.
• Maintain design‑controlled documentation, including specifications, test protocols/reports, risk files, DHF deliverables, and technical documentation to support audits and regulatory submissions.
• Partner with Quality, Regulatory, Manufacturing, Clinical, suppliers, and external test laboratories while providing technical leadership, design trade‑off decisions, and mentorship to engineering teams.
• Adhoc tasks and projects as assigned

Job Requirements

• Minimum Degree in a related discipline
• Minimum 6 year of relevant experience
• Able to start immediately or within short notice
