Job summary

A leading company in the drilling industry is seeking a post-sales technical engineer to support the deployment of optical projects. This role involves commissioning, troubleshooting, and testing as well as the development of engineering documentation. Candidates should possess a Bachelor's degree in engineering and have experience with fiber optics systems and networking.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related fields required.
• Knowledge of Fiber Optics Transport Systems (OTN, DWDM) is essential.
• Experience with data/packet networking and test equipment is needed.

Responsibilities

• Commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting of network systems.
• Develop engineering deployment packages and installation plans.
• Provide post-deployment operational support and arrangements.

Job description

• Post sales technical engineering role supporting deployment of optical projects.
• Responsible for mainly commissioning, testing, troubleshooting and acceptance of network.
• Developing engineering deployment package containing all information, settings and configurations and provision the network.
• Installation, commissioning, troubleshooting and testing of optical transport / DWDM systems.
• Developing engineering deployment package including network deployment plans and site specific installations, commissioning plans.
• Perform software / firmware updates on systems.
• Prepare as built documentation sets for future network upgrade support
• Post deployment operation support, handling and troubleshooting of telco equipment and arranging RMA.

Requirements

• At least Bachelor degree in engineering or related fields
• Knowledge on Fiber Optics Transport Systems such as OTN, DWDM
• Work with Data / Packet Networking such as ethernet, IP, Fiber Channels
• Worked with Test equipment such as OSA, OTDR, Optical Power meters
• Physically capable to handle telco equipment
• Systems integration experience such as SNMP, SMTP, NTP
• Worked with Visio, Linus Red Hat
• Working experience with Ciena equipmentis an added advantage
• Excellent verbal & written communication skills
• Good Team player and able to work independently with minimum supervision
