Job summary

Singtel seeks a senior network architect to lead the design and deployment of IP VPN services, including Segment Routing and MPLS. You will drive testing, monitoring, and optimization while coordinating with operations, pre-sales, and vendors to ensure high service reliability.

You will bring 6+ years of telecom networking experience, CCNA/CCNP/CCIE is advantageous, and strong Python/Go skills. OpenStack/RHEL/Docker experience and AI protocol familiarity are valued.

Qualifications

• Degree in Telecommunications/ Electrical/ Electronics with 6+ years experience.
• Strong knowledge of IP, MPLS, VPN tech and DWDM/Ethernet.
• CCNA/CCNP/CCIE certification is a plus.
• Experience with performance measurement tools (NetFlow, SNMP, TWAMP).
• OpenStack, RHEL and Docker experience.
• Programming in Python and Go; YANG/NetConf/REST.
• AI/LLM protocol familiarity is a plus.
• Ability to coordinate across multiple groups and solve problems.
• Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Architect next-gen IP VPN services using Segment Routing with network slicing.
• Design, develop, test features for Singtel Private IPVPN and Deterministic Global Internet Service.
• Manage lifecycle of network services and prevent outages; improve restoration times.
• Plan and expand SingTel Private IPVPN/MPLS networks; ensure SLA compliance.
• Manage equipment lifecycle and upgrade network elements.
• Configure core/access routers, switches and related hardware.
• Ensure capacity to meet SLAs and performance targets.
• Enhance monitoring and automation with AI-based tools.
• Evaluate new products/tech for service rollout.
• Stay updated on networking tech and gear for service improvements.
• Work with Operations on commissioning, changes, decommissioning and provisioning.
• Act as Tier 4 for incident resolution and problem management.
• Vendor management and tender processes; supplier contract administration.
• Be SME for the service and consultant to pre-sales.

Make an impact by:

• Architect the next generation IP VPN services using Segment Routing variance with network slicing.
• Design, develop and conduct testing to support new features on Singtel Private IPVPN service, as well as Deterministic Global Internet Service.
• Manage the lifecycle of the network services, and algorithm at appropriate times to prevent service failures and improve service restoration time.
• Design, plan and setup/expand new/existing SingTel Private IPVPN / MPLS network, and Global Internet Network. This will include ensuring that design conforms to Singtel's Service Level Agreement and ease of operation and maintenance.
• Manage the lifecycle of the network and refresh equipment at appropriate times to prevent network failures due to wear and tear.
• Design, plan, implement and configure various network element including core routers, access routers, switches, etc.
• Manage network capacity to ensure that the network performance meets the Service Level Agreements offered to customers.
• Upgrade and enhance the network performance monitoring, network management system to automate the service with AI.
• Evaluation of new products and technologies for new services rollout.
• Keep abreast of new technologies and networking gear to improve the network and services that is offered to customers
• Work with Operation team on the commissioning, implementation of changes, decommissioning, and provisioning of network.
• Act as Tier 4 support for resolving operational incidents and problems.
• Manage equipment vendors, purchase equipment through tendering process and administer supplier's contract.
• Subject matter expert for the service and act as a consultant to the pre-sales team.

Skills for Success:

• Degree in Telecommunications/ Electrical/ Electronics or equivalent qualifications with at least 6 years of working experience.
• To have good working knowledge of networking technologies, in particular IP, Internet, SR, SRv6 uSID and MPLS (such as TCP/IP, OSPF, ISIS, BGP etc). Knowledge base must include IP routing, peering, VPN related technologies; and other layer 1 and 2 networking technologies like DWDM and Ethernet.
• Professional certification (e.g. CCNA, CCNP, CCIE, etc.) will be an advantage.
• To have good working knowledge of performance measurement and collection, in particular gRPC, TWAMP, TWAMP Lite, PingMIB, NetFlow, SNMP, Syslog, etc.
• To have good working knowledge of servers and virtualization administration, in particular OpenStack, RHEL, Linux Container, Docker, etc.
• To have good working knowledge of software programming and integration, in particular Python, GoLang, YANG, NetConf, JSON, XML, RPC, Rest, gRPC, etc.
• To have good working knowledge of AI, in particular various LLM and A2A protocols.
• To have the aptitude and attitude to continuously upgrade and refresh the knowledge in networking technologies.
• Good inter-personal, organizational, problem solving and teamwork skills.
• Proactive nature and ability to coordinate process designs across multiple groups
