As a member of the team, you have a direct impact on design and feature enhancements to keep our systems running smoothly. You also ensure that network operations are safe and efficient by monitoring network performance, coordinating planned maintenance, adjusting hardware components and responding to network connectivity issues. In this role you will be responsible for the system level design and deployment of the global fiber optic network that connects Google’s data centers to the world. This network allows Google to function as a global computer, ensuring continuous flow of data to and from all corners of the planet.

Qualifications
Job responsibilities

• Lead Network Delivery team delivering all terrestrial and subsea line systems, including long haul, local long haul, metro transport, and associated WAN capacity.
• Provide leadership and transactional management for implementation teams located across multiple geographies and regions.
• Lead cross functional initiatives with stakeholders in building the leadership capabilities to drive organizational transformation together.
• Develop the measurement systems for your organization and apply statistical process control to improve the team’s performance against speed and quality.
• Develop relationships with internal partners and vendors fostering collaborating to improve delivery through cycle time reduction.

Minimum qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 6 years of experience managing and building teams.
• 6 years of experience in telecommunications at carrier working with optical network infrastructure, transmission systems, layer 2/3 routers, and data services

Preferred qualifications

• 6 years of experience in telecommunications, OSP, ISP, AC/DC power systems, and relay rack/cabinet/cage construction.
• Experience in demonstrating capabilities to influence across a broad, cross-functional organization.
• Knowledge in data networking architectures and physical network components.
• Understand of cloud computing, Linux server environments, network design and deployment, and managing infrastructure.
• Ability to do multiple projects simultaneously and to learn new business and technical skills to adapt to changing environments
