Job description

Summary

The Network expert will be a technical expert for all Network services in CA-CIB. He/She will provide support and act as the last level of escalation point for all production support activities within the Network/Security team in Singapore. He/She must work effectively with technical peers such as architects, peer experts, and project teams on technology roadmaps and projects. He/She will control the scope of technical activities, develop best practices, manage knowledge, and ensure necessary training is imparted to the team where applicable.

The Network/Security Expert is responsible for supporting CA-CIB's International Networks and providing operational support to the bank's data centers and satellite offices. This includes maintaining real-time monitoring of all network and security components (LAN/MAN/WAN - Switches, Routers, IDS, Firewalls, Proxies, etc.) and providing Level 3 support for issues or equipment failures.

Main Responsibilities

The expert has a broad range of responsibilities, including:

  • Assigning technical tasks and managing delegation for technical issues,
  • Encouraging collaboration and sharing best practices within the team,
  • Supporting technical skills development,
  • Supporting new technologies and leveraging them to ensure consistent service across streams,
  • Managing service improvements for all supported network services,
  • Documenting, reviewing, maintaining, and sharing relevant technical information,
  • Providing technical direction and supporting services proactively and reactively to maintain system availability and reliability according to SLAs,
  • Implementing and developing improvements based on LEAN-CA-CIB best practices,
  • Focusing on automation and optimal team utilization to improve efficiency,
  • Driving root cause analysis for high-severity issues,
  • Reviewing technology changes to identify potential risks,
  • Managing the problem management module in ServiceNow.

As an experienced professional in Network Services, he/she:

  • Supports the team during diagnosis of technical issues within their expertise,
  • Is aware of the global IT structure to anticipate interrelationships within the organization,
  • Manages Level 3 activities involving direct relationships with end users, architecture, design, and project management,
  • Engages with technical peers, service managers, architects, and project teams on technology roadmaps and projects,
  • Facilitates transformation projects and suggests future directions for improvements and changes,
  • Is available and capable of driving complex or high-severity incidents within their scope,
  • Actively engages with new technologies and trends, incorporating them into CA-CIB operations.
