Job description

We Are Looking For

As the Network Engineer, you will be reporting to the Senior Operations Manager. You will be responsible for the monitoring and maintaining the operational integrity of the Data Center cable network. Your role is crucial in ensuring uninterrupted communication and data transmission across international regions through the Data Center infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor, resolve and update all Operations-assigned service tickets (trouble tickets and customer request, installations of electrical and physical equipment) throughout the daily shift using PDG’s ticketing system
  • Installation and termination of all copper and fibre cross-connects to include gathering requirements, designing, labelling, testing and documentation
  • Remain informed and up to date on the policies and procedures in the ServiceNow knowledge base, RunSmart OS etc
  • Taking of 22KV Grid power and Branch Circuit Power Monitoring power consumption reading every end of the month
  • Support the safety and cleanliness of the environment and occupants by being proactive in identifying issues you see need resolution, opening tickets for maintenance and taking the needed steps to get it done
  • Operate, monitor, maintain, and respond to abnormal conditions in facilities system.
  • Work closely with vendors, field technicians, and telecommunications service providers to resolve service issues and improvements
  • Support Shipping and Receiving with delivery and tracking of packages internally, packaging/unpacking and loading/unloading of deliveries for customers, carriers, vendors, or other offices
  • Provide escorts for clients, vendors, and contractors to various onsite locations.
  • Ensure physical security of data centre, building, and occupants by maintaining site security protocols, badging requirements and data protection procedures

Qualities You Should Have

  • Diploma / ITE in Network or Computer Engineering
  • Minimum 2 to 5 years experience in Network Architecture understanding
  • Must be able to work in a 12-hour rotating shift work schedule
  • Prior experience in managing contractors (technical and soft services) and Technicians
