Job summary

Airwallex (Singapore) PTE. LTD. is seeking a hands-on Cloud Networking Engineer to design, build, and operate scalable AWS and GCP network architectures from our Singapore office.

The role focuses on multi-region networking, Terraform-driven automation, and secure interconnects across regions and providers. You will work with Security, DevOps, and Platform teams to deliver resilient network foundations, while contributing to on-call rotations and global incident response.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience designing and operating AWS network environments at scale (VPC, Transit Gateway, route tables, Direct Connect, AWS Network Firewall).
• Proficiency in Terraform or equivalent infrastructure-as-code tooling for provisioning cloud networks.
• Practical experience with GCP networking concepts, including Shared VPC and Cloud Router, or multi-cloud exposure.
• Familiarity with Linux distributions, Python or Bash scripting, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong knowledge of core routing and switching, subnetting, TCP/IP, and BGP dynamic routing.
• Associate networking certification or equivalent hands-on experience.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and optimise highly available, multi-account, multi-region AWS and GCP cloud network architectures with routing and security components.
• Automate and manage global cloud network infrastructure using Terraform through Git-driven CI/CD pipelines.
• Manage BGP routing, IPsec VPNs, and dynamic cloud routing between AWS, GCP, regional PoPs, and external banking partners under regulatory requirements.
• Improve reliability and visibility by acting as escalation point for complex issues and participating in a global on-call rotation.
• Partner with Security, DevOps, and Platform teams to build secure landing zones and automated network controls.

How you'll make impact

As Airwallex scales its globally distributed financial platform, you'll help build the cloud networking foundations that keep our infrastructure highly available, secure, and connected across regions and providers.

• Design, build, and optimise highly available, multi-account, and multi-region AWS and GCP cloud network architectures, including Layer 3 routing, Transit Gateway, Shared VPC, Cloud Router, and Direct Connect.

• Automate and manage global cloud network infrastructure using Terraform through Git-driven CI/CD pipelines.

• Manage BGP routing, IPsec VPNs, and dynamic cloud routing between AWS, GCP, regional points of presence, and external banking partners under strict financial regulatory requirements.

• Improve the reliability and visibility of cloud networking by serving as an escalation point for complex issues and participating in a global on-call rotation.

• Partner with Security, DevOps, and Platform teams to build secure landing zones and automated network controls.

What we're looking for

Essentials

• Hands-on experience designing and operating AWS network environments at scale, including VPC, Transit Gateway, route tables, Direct Connect, and AWS Network Firewall.

• Proficiency in Terraform or equivalent infrastructure-as-code tools for provisioning and automating cloud network components.

• Practical experience with GCP networking concepts, including Shared VPC and Cloud Router, or experience working in multi-cloud environments.

• Familiarity with Linux distributions, Python or Bash scripting, and CI/CD pipelines.

• Strong knowledge of core routing and switching, subnetting, TCP/IP, and BGP dynamic routing principles.

• An associate-level networking certification, or equivalent hands-on experience. Examples include CCNA, JNCIA-Junos, HCIA, Aruba ACA, Network+, AWS Certified Advanced Networking - Specialty, or GCP Professional Cloud Network Engineer.

Preferred

• Experience in fintech, local banking, or high-concurrency and high-availability financial networks with strict information security requirements.

• Familiarity with GCP-preferred architectures.

• Advanced certifications such as CCNP, JNCIP, AWS Certified Advanced Networking - Specialty, or equivalent.

• Experience integrating AI-assisted workflows and modern operational tools.
