Job summary

StarHub is seeking a Network Engineer based at client site in Singapore to support and maintain mission-critical Wireless network infrastructure. You will troubleshoot, perform preventive maintenance, upgrades, and incident response for large-scale wireless environments operating in a 24/7 environment.

Responsibilities include deployment, monitoring with Catalyst Center, AirWave, SevOne, and ServiceNow, plus RCA reporting and after-hours support as needed.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Network Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 3–5 years hands-on experience in network and wireless infrastructure support.
• Strong knowledge of Cisco WLC, Aruba Wireless, Switching/Routing, Firewalls and network security concepts.
• Experience with monitoring/management tools: Cisco Catalyst Center, AirWave, SevOne, ServiceNow.
• Familiarity with incident management, RCA prep, and maintenance support processes.
• Experience in enterprise/mission-critical environments is a plus.
• Good troubleshooting, communication, and stakeholder coordination skills.
• Willingness to work after-hours maintenance when required.
• Certifications: CCNA/CCNP, Aruba ACC/ACP, ITIL Foundation (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day operations of wireless infrastructure including Cisco/WLC, Aruba, switches, firewalls, captive portals, and authentication systems.
• Troubleshoot Wireless connectivity issues, DNS, DHCP, captive portal access, OTP login, VLAN routing, and authentication failures.
• Manage service escalations and support major incident troubleshooting during disruptions.
• Support preventive maintenance, firmware upgrades, patching, and tech refresh activities.
• Assist with WLC upgrade activities including AP image updates, failover testing, rollback planning, and validation.
• Coordinate with vendor TACs (Cisco/Aruba) for issue analysis and resolution.
• Perform root cause analysis and prepare incident reports and preventive recommendations.
• Support deployment activities including APs, switches, firewall migrations, SSL updates, and network migrations.
• Collaborate with stakeholders, vendors, contractors, and facility teams during maintenance.
• Monitor infrastructure health using Catalyst Center, AirWave, SevOne, LogicMonitor, NetAlly.

About the role

This role will be based at client site. Network Engineer is responsible for supporting and maintaining mission-critical Wireless network infrastructure. The role involves troubleshooting, maintenance, incident response, preventive maintenance, implementation activities, vendor coordination, and support for large-scale wireless environments operating in a 24/7 environment.

Key responsibilities

• Support day-to-day operations of wireless infrastructure including Cisco Wireless solutions, Aruba solutions, switches, firewalls, captive portals, and authentication systems.

• Perform troubleshooting for Wireless connectivity issues, DNS, DHCP, captive portal access, OTP login issues, VLAN routing, authentication failures, and internet access problems.

• Manage service technical escalations and support major incident troubleshooting during service disruptions.

• Support preventive maintenance, firmware upgrades, patching, and technology refresh activities for wireless and network infrastructure.

• Support WLC upgrade activities including Access Point image updates, failover testing, rollback planning, and validation activities.

• Work closely with vendor TAC such as Cisco TAC and Aruba TAC for issue analysis and problem resolution.

• Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and prepare incident reports, technical findings, and preventive recommendations.

• Support implementation activities including Access Point deployment, switch replacement, firewall migration, SSL certificate updates, and network migrations.

• Coordinate with stakeholders, vendors, contractors, and facility management teams during maintenance and implementation activities.

• Monitor infrastructure health using tools such as Catalyst Center, AirWave, SevOne, LogicMonitor, NetAlly.

• Familiarity with incident management, RCA preparation, and maintenance support processes.

• Experience supporting enterprise or mission-critical environments is an advantage.

• Good troubleshooting, communication, and stakeholder coordination skills.

• Ability to work independently and support after-hours maintenance activities when required.

• Preferred Certifications: Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), Aruba Certified Mobility Associate/Professional, ITIL Foundation Certification.
