Job summary

SysNet System and Solutions Pte Ltd is seeking a Network Engineer to design, implement and maintain complex network infrastructures for clients. You will work with LAN, WAN and cloud networks, configure routers, switches, firewalls and load balancers, and manage Fortinet, Cisco, Juniper, Aruba and related devices.

The role requires hands-on firewall/VPN experience and proficiency with network monitoring tools, VPNs and security protocols.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Design, implement and deploy network infrastructure solutions including LAN, WAN and cloud-based networks.
• Configure and manage network devices such as routers, switches, firewalls and load balancers.
• Administer Fortinet, Cisco, Juniper, Alcatel, Palo Alto and Check Point devices.
• Administer and maintain FortiGate Firewalls, FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer, FortiAuthenticator, and FortiClient solutions.
• Configure Cisco WLCs, Access Points, and Aruba ClearPass NAC solutions.
• Troubleshoot network issues to identify and resolve connectivity and performance problems.
• Monitor network performance and optimize reliability and efficiency.
• Install and maintain network security measures including firewalls and VPNs.
• Document network configurations and procedures for reference.
• Provide guidance to junior team members and collaborate with client IT teams.
• Stay updated with emerging network technologies and best practices.

About the role

We are seeking a talented and motivated Network Engineer to join our team on a full-time basis. This is a strategic position within our engineering division where you will play a key role in designing, implementing and maintaining network infrastructure solutions for our clients. As a Network Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring optimal network performance, security and reliability whilst working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver solutions that meet client requirements and business objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and deploy network infrastructure solutions including LAN, WAN and cloud-based networks

• Configure and manage network devices such as routers, switches, firewalls and load balancers.

  • Administer and support network devices from Fortinet, Cisco, Alcatel, Juniper, Palo Alto, Check Point

  • Administer and maintain FortiGate Firewalls, FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer, FortiAuthenticator, and FortiClient solutions.

  • Configure and manage Cisco Wireless LAN Controllers (WLC), Access Points, and Aruba ClearPass NAC solutions.

• Perform network troubleshooting and diagnostics to identify and resolve connectivity and performance issues

• Monitor network performance and implement optimisation strategies to ensure reliability and efficiency

• Install, configure and maintain network security measures including firewalls, VPNs and access control systems

• Conduct network assessments and provide recommendations for infrastructure upgrades and improvements

• Document network configurations, procedures and technical specifications for operational reference

• Provide technical support and guidance to junior team members and collaborate with IT teams at client sites

• Stay current with emerging network technologies and industry best practices

• Participate in network maintenance activities and coordinate with stakeholders during system upgrades

What we're looking for

• Professional certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, Network+, or equivalent industry-recognised qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in network engineering or network administration

• Strong technical knowledge of networking concepts including TCP/IP protocols, routing, switching and network security

• Hands-on experience with major networking platforms such as Fortinet, Cisco, Juniper, or equivalent vendors

• Demonstrated expertise in firewall configuration, VPN implementation and network security protocols

• Proficiency with network monitoring and diagnostic tools including Wireshark, Ping, Tracert and SNMP

• Experience with cloud networking services such such as AWS, Azure or Google Cloud Platform

• Strong problem-solving abilities and analytical mindset with attention to detail

• Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in team environments

• Knowledge of network documentation and configuration management best practices

• Experience with network automation and scripting languages such as Python or Ansible is advantageous

• Familiarity with industry standards and compliance requirements in network security is preferred
