Murata Electronics Singapore (Pte.) Ltd. is seeking a Network and Factory Automation Engineer based in Yishun.

This hybrid role ensures availability, security and continuous improvement of the factory's IT/OT environment, supporting industrial networks, machine connectivity, and data interfaces. You will configure and maintain the factory network, integrate PLCs and sensors, and ensure reliable communication from shop-floor devices through SCADA and MES systems, while driving downtime reduction

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in IT/Telecommunications/Electrical/Electronics/Automation.
• At least 3 years in manufacturing IT/OT or industrial automation.
• Experience in both networking and automation preferred.
• Strong troubleshooting across network, OS, apps, and data interfaces.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Configure, install, document and support the factory network.
• Integrate PLCs, barcode scanners, sensors, industrial PCs and handling equipment.
• Establish machine data connections to Manufacturing Execution System.

Department: Factory Business Engineering / Factory Automation Department

Position Profile:

Based in: Yishun

Successful candidate will:

The Network and Factory Automation Engineer is the hybrid role responsible for the availability, security and continuous improvement of the factory's information technology (IT) and operational technology (OT) environment. The position supports industrial networks, machine connectivity, factory automation systems and manufacturing data interfaces. The engineer ensures reliable communication from shop-floor devices, PLCs and HMIs through supervisory and factory automation systems.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Factory Network Operations Configure, install, document and support the factory network, manage switches and related network services. Maintain resilient and scalable infrastructure for manufacturing areas.


• Automation and Equipment Integration Integrate PLCs, barcode scanners, sensors, industrial PCs and material-handling equipment. Configuration, testing on the automation system setup for new machines and upgrades.


• Machine-to-System Connectivity and Data Collection Establish and maintain machine data connections and interfaces to Manufacturing Execution System.


• Incident Response and Downtime Reduction Monitor network infrastructure, respond promptly to failures, perform troubleshooting and root-cause analysis, restore services safely, and implement permanent corrective and preventive actions.


• Performance and Continuous Improvement Analyze network, system and machine data to identify bottlenecks, recurring faults and improvement opportunities.

Ability / Competency Required

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Telecommunications, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Automation Engineering or a related field.


• At least 3 years of hands-on experience in manufacturing IT/OT, industrial automation, network engineering or a closely related field. Experience in both networking and automation is strongly preferred.


• Strong troubleshooting ability across network, operating system, application, control and data-interface layers, supported by disciplined root-cause analysis, change control and documentation.


• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively under pressure, operate with minimal supervision, and collaborate across diverse cultures.


• Proficient in VB.NET, Python, JavaScript, Shell Scripting, and Oracle SQL for application development, automation, and data management.
