Qualifications

• Must hold NAS 410 Level 1; Level 2 preferred.
• ITE Technical Certificate or Higher Nitec in Engineering or related discipline.
• Engineering Diploma or Degree from a recognized institution.
• Willingness to pursue NAS 410/EN 4179 RL3 pathway and CAAS exam.
• Exposure to NADCAP or AS9100 audits is advantageous.
• Knowledge of FAA FAR 145, EASA Part 145, CAAC 145 is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support MRO expansion and certification with international authorities.
• Perform and evaluate NDT inspections across methods (PT, MT, ET, UT, RT).

Job description

Overall Purpose

The NDT Technician/Specialist is responsible for performing NDT inspections, certifying product airworthiness, and ensuring compliance with aerospace standards. The role requires flexibility to train in multiple NDT methods, supports aviation safety and international regulatory expansion, and provides a development pathway toward becoming the company's Responsible Level 3(RL3), subject to meeting academic and experience requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Regulatory & MRO Expansion: Support ATCA's expansion of MRO capabilities and certification with international aviation authorities such as FAA, EASA and CAAC, including preparation of NDT documentation and participation in regulatory audits.
• NDT Technical Operations: Perform and evaluate NDT inspections independently, maintain strong knowledge of applicable aerospace standards and procedures, and develop competency in multiple NDT methods such as PT, MT, ET, UT and RT.
• Certifying Staff Duties: Obtain CAAS Certifying Staff authorization, perform airworthiness release and certification of inspected components, and ensure regulatory requirements such as visual acuity examinations are properly maintained.
• Safety Management: Participate as a Safety Action Group (SAG) member, monitor safety performance indicators and targets, identify operational risks, and use statistical methods to assess the effectiveness of safety controls.
• Quality & Compliance: Maintain compliance with NAS 410/EN 4179 and other aerospace standards, update NDT Written Practice and procedures, participate in audits, maintain personnel certification records, and support training of junior staff.
• Leadership & L3 Development: Progress towards becoming a Responsible Level 3(RL3) through mentoring, practical experience, procedure and examination development, continued education where required, and regular review of NDT standards and practices.
• Workplace health and safety: Take reasonable care of workplace health and safety; abide by all Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) policies and procedures; cooperate with Management and colleagues in EHS initiatives; and perform any other duties, responsibilities, or special projects as assigned by Management from time to time.
• Other Duties: Perform ad-hoc duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Must hold at least a NAS 410 Level 1 certification, NAS 410 level 2 certification is highly preferred.
• ITE Technical Certificate or Higher Nitec in Engineering, Material Science or a related discipline.
• Must hold a valid Engineering Diploma or Degree from a recognized polytechnic, university or equivalent technical institution to qualify for promotion to RL3.
• Clear intent to fulfill the long-term practical aerospace experience requirements under NAS 410 / EN 4179.
• Prior exposure to NADCAP or AS9100 aviation quality audits is highly advantageous.
• Exposure to or knowledge of international aviation regulations (FAA FAR 145, EASA Part 145, CAAC CCAR-145) is a distinct advantage.
• Foundational understanding of Aviation SMSfundamentals, hazard reporting, data analysis tools, or basic Statistical Process Control (SPC) software is highly preferred.
• Minimum valid NAS 410 / EN 4179 Level 2 certification in at least one primary method.
• Willingness and capability to prepare for and pass theCAAS Aviation Legislation examination within an agreed probationary period.
• Highly adaptable and open to immediate classroom and on-the-job training (OJT) cycles for added capabilities (PT, MT, ET, UT, RT).
