Job description

Job Summary :

The NDT Engineer is responsible for performing and overseeing non-destructive testing activities to assess the integrity and quality of materials, components, and structures without causing damage. The role ensures compliance with applicable codes, standards, and customer specifications, contributing to the safety, reliability, and performance of engineering systems.

Key Responsibilities :

Plan, coordinate, and conduct NDT inspections (e.g., UT, MT, PT, RT, VT) in accordance with relevant codes and standards (e.g., ASNT, ISO, ASTM, AWS, API).

Evaluate test results, prepare reports, and provide recommendations for repairs or improvements.

Interpret radiographs, ultrasonic waveforms, and other test data to determine structural integrity.

Review technical drawings, welding procedures, and material specifications for inspection requirements.

Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality assurance protocols during NDT operations.

Supervise and train NDT technicians as required.

Maintain NDT equipment and calibration records.

Liaise with clients, third-party inspectors, and other engineering teams on quality matters.

Participate in audits, quality reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, or Diploma in Mechanical or related field (preferred).

Certified in NDT methods (e.g., PCN Level II, ISO 9712 Level II).

Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in industrial or construction environments (oil & gas, marine, etc.).

Proficient in reading engineering drawings and specifications.

Skills & Competencies:

Strong knowledge of NDT methods and their appropriate applications.

Good analytical and interpretation skills.

Effective communication and reporting abilities.

Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.

Familiarity with quality standards and documentation procedures.
