Navigation Integrated Systems Engineer

CMA Ships, a subsidiary of the CMA CGM Group, covers all facets of the maritime business: from the fleet management of the vessels to that of the crew members.
CMA Ships is also a team of experts responsible for implementing innovative solutions and making CMA CGM vessels more energy efficient.

Summary
You will be responsible for implementation and monitoring the appropriate actions taken to meet the technical and regulatory needs, work with the partners to ensure operational condition within the budget of the fleets. You will be the advisor to the crew onboard, vessel manager, partner contract holders i.e. vendors, makers, and transversal departments regarding the maintenance of the Navigation Integrated Systems.

To excel in this role, you would need to possess excellent communication and analytical skills, ability to work both independently and in a team-based environment.


Your main responsibilities are, but not limited to:

  1. Monitor and/or organize the planned surveys, health check and/or maintenance of navigation integrated systems and provide support to vessels and shore teams including risk assessment for new situations or planned interventions.
  2. Collaborate with vessel managers for the repairs by sourcing best solutions with key partners within time and budget.
  3. Assist and monitor vessel compliance with flag and class requirements related to navigation integrated systems.
  4. Provide feedback and dispute on repair proposals of partners or vendors to ensure operational availability.
  5. Contribute proactively on issuance of experience feedback, lessons learned from vessel’s navigation integrated systems to improve reliability.
  6. Maintain up to date database of radio and navigation systems onboard, discuss with expert team optimal lifecycle of navigation integrated systems.
  7. Evaluate and assess regularly with segment purchasers on partners and key vendors performance.
  8. Prepare the annual budget for assigned vessels in consultation with the Superintendents/Vessel managers.
  9. Keep abreast of new technologies.
  10. Attend vessels in ports when required.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Electronics and Telecommunication.
  • Preferably 3 years’ experience in support for vessels.
  • Good knowledge of integrated radio and navigation systems, OT networking, cybersecurity controls.
  • Proven skills to provide best support to vessels and shore teams.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
  • Project management skills, competencies in various software programs, includes Word, Excel and PowerPoint, Power Query.
