BRIC in Singapore invites a Research Fellow to develop biomaterials for reprogramming tumor-associated cells in vivo, aiming to boost cancer immunotherapy. The project integrates material science, immunology and translational biology to create novel cancer therapies.
The candidate will design and characterise biomaterials, perform in vivo studies, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to advance immunotherapy approaches.
A solid tumor contains a variety of cells, some of which are immuno-suppressed and metabolically inhibited while some are recruited by cancer cells as accomplices to support tumor development. Cell reprogramming is a powerful way using proteins and nucleic acids to steer the fates of cells into anti-cancer phenotypes. However, getting the reprogramming therapeutics into cells in vivo remains challenging. In this project, the research fellow will be developing biomaterials for reprogram tumor-associated cells in vivo, with the aim to boost cancer immunotherapy.
PhD in material sciences, biomedical engineering and immunology. The candidate should have experience in organic synthesis, immune characterisation and/or animal work.
