Job description

This position is designed for early-career academics with outstanding potential to establish a robust and influential research and teaching portfolio within the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering. The role is supported by a startup package to foster a conducive environment for academic growth.

Responsibilities

• Research: Leading independent and collaborative research projects; securing competitive external research funding; publishing in high-impact, international peer-reviewed journals; establishing strong local and global research collaborations; and mentoring undergraduate and graduate students.
• Teaching: Designing and delivering effective undergraduate and graduate courses; developing innovative curriculum and assessment methods; supervising student projects and theses; and employing inclusive, active learning strategies.
• Service: Participating in departmental and university committees; contributing to outreach and recruitment initiatives; and engaging with the broader academic and professional community.

Requirements

• A doctoral degree (PhD) in Civil Engineering, Environmental Science and Engineering, Geomatics, Urban Planning, Transportation, or a closely related field.
• A demonstrated record of research excellence and the potential for achieving teaching excellence.
• A strong publication record and a clearly articulated vision for future research.
• An interdisciplinary research orientation.
• Practical awareness of industry practices and challenges.
