Job Description

The position requires the candidate to conduct music lessons to pre-schoolers at EtonHouse centres. The ideal candidate would be a person who can also assume a role as a teacher.

  • Work collaboratively with children, teachers and the community of EtonHouse to develop a , fun, educational music/movement activities and deepens the learning that is taking place through class initiated inquiries;
  • Create a variety of opportunities for children to express themselves and make discoveries using thechildren songs, lyrics and movements related to the curriculum as well as performance theme music;
  • Meet regularly with the class teachers and curriculum coordinator to discuss ideas and connections to the current inquiries;
  • Maintain a high standard of teaching practice and professionalism;
  • Undertake continued professional development and share the scope ofMusic Teacherwith the school community;
  • Document children’s learning making connections to the curriculum. For example; portfolio entries, newsletters, community display boards;
  • Manage and develop pre-school resources and materials forMusic programme

Qualifications

  • Diploma in education with a major in music, or a diploma/degree inmusic or Diploma in Music Performance/ Speech & Drama
  • Fluent in spoken and written in English
  • Added Advantages: Ability to play at least one musical instrument and/ or basic qualifications in Early Childhood Education/ Preschool Teaching
