Monitoring Support Engineer

Job Description:

Essential Job Functions:

1. Monitor system and batch job processing; perform 1st level problem determination and resolution; and timely escalation of issues and critical alerts.
2. Assist System / Application Support engineers in system and/or batch jobs recovery.
3. Set up and maintain the monitoring maintenance policy for systems undergoing maintenance, including stopping and resuming monitoring and alerts.
4. Work closely with System / Application Support engineers to improve system and batch monitoring and alerts.
5. Participate in Daily Operations meetings and prepare Health Check reports.
6. Coordinate with the Change Manager to communicate with clients regarding the start and end of change activities.
7. Provide 24x7 rotating shift support on 8 or 12-hour duties, including extended support or duty swaps during absences or major issues.
8. Adhere to established standard operating procedures.

Basic Qualifications:

1. Diploma or Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science) or equivalent experience.
2. Analytical mindset with the ability to understand business and functional concepts.
3. Proactive, self-driven, and able to work under pressure with a high sense of urgency.
4. Ability to work effectively independently and within a team.
5. Comfortable interacting with internal and external stakeholders.
6. Experience with ticketing systems.
7. Experience with monitoring tools and scripting for automation.
8. Knowledge of SQL and ability to construct basic SQL queries.
