Job summary

The Animal & Veterinary Service (AVS), a cluster of NParks in Singapore, is seeking a laboratory specialist to provide professional diagnostic and research support for animal and zoonotic biosurveillance programmes. You will collaborate on national and international projects and deliver laboratory services to external customers, contributing to NParks' mission of protecting animal health and biodiversity.

Qualifications

Bachelor-level or higher degree in Biology, Biotechnology, Biomedical Science or related field.
At least two years of hands-on experience in a veterinary, medical or research laboratory preferred.
Postgraduate qualifications in Microbiology or Life Sciences are advantageous.
Knowledge of ISO/IEC 17025:2017 and quality assurance systems is advantageous.

Responsibilities

Lead projects involving molecular pathogen characterisation, AMR detection, monitoring, and data analysis.
Develop and validate test protocols and sequencing pipelines (NGS) for veterinary and zoonotic pathogens.
Support laboratory diagnostics for disease outbreak investigations and biosurveillance.
Contribute to ISO/IEC 17025:2017 compliant quality assurance and continuous improvement.
