Job summary

GRAVITAS RECRUITMENT GROUP (SG) PTE. LTD. is partnering with a fast-growing insurtech startup to hire an experienced actuary who will design, build, and test models powering forecasting, risk, pricing, and capital decisions.

You will work with cross-functional teams and Big 4 consultants, tackle complex data, ensure audit-readiness, and leverage Prophet, Python, SQL, and VBA. Mandarin or Korean is a strong advantage.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of actuarial experience, IFRS 17/RBC 2/Solvency II exposure.
• Hands-on actuarial modelling using Prophet, Python, SQL, VBA.
• Strong problem-solving; ability to explain complex concepts clearly.
• Mandarin Chinese or Korean language proficiency is a strong advantage.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and test actuarial models powering forecasting, risk, pricing, and capital.
• Dig into complex data sets and turn them into insight, not just output.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams (product, tech, actuarial) and Big 4 actuarial consultants.

We're hiring for a fast-growing insurtech startup that's rebuilding how insurers design, run, and govern their actuarial and financial models.

If you're an actuary who's tired of legacy systems and wants to build the tools insurers will use for the next decade, this is your seat.

What you'll do

• Design, build, and test actuarial models that power real decisions on forecasting, risk, pricing, and capital
• Dig into complex data sets and turn them into insight, not just output
• Work closely with cross-functional teams (product, tech, actuarial) and Big 4 actuarial consultants
• Keep models accurate, efficient, and audit-ready against evolving regulatory frameworks

What you'll bring

• 5+ years of actuarial experience, ideally with exposure to IFRS 17, RBC 2, or Solvency II
• Hands-on experience with actuarial modelling and coding tools/software (Prophet, Python, SQL, VBA etc.)
• Sharp problem-solving skills and the ability to explain complex things simply
• Fluency in Mandarin Chinese or Korean is a strong advantage, given regional stakeholder coverage
