Job description:
Job Purpose
The Assistant Engineer, Maintenance Operation Centre - Field Services & Control (MOC - FSC), is part of the Maintenance Operation Center responsible for providing operational engineering and technical advisory, fault handling, network readiness monitoring, and management of maintenance activities supporting operations of the Operational Control Center (OCC).
- Responsible for maintaining Signalling and ISCS equipment within OCC.
- Control and monitor the status of all CCL Maintenance Field Service works.
- Oversee maintenance activities undertaken by non-CCL agencies.
- Conduct condition monitoring of Signalling and ISCS equipment in the network.
- Perform response and recovery actions, including deploying field teams and coordinating maintenance.
- Provide technical advice to management and other stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
- Assist in team management, coaching, and defect trend analysis (applicable to IC).
- Ability to multi-task and make decisions under stress.
Responsibilities:
- Manage day-to-day MOC-FSC operations following established processes.
- Plan and perform preventive and corrective maintenance on Signalling and ISCS equipment.
- Download, analyze logs, and troubleshoot faults.
- Support fault-finding and investigations.
- Monitor maintenance activities across teams and agencies.
- Coordinate defect management, response, and recovery actions.
- Communicate maintenance information to stakeholders.
- Manage defect reports and coordinate rectifications.
- Verify system readiness before traffic starts.
- Adhere to safety and security regulations.
- Assist in spare parts management and work instruction updates.
- Support training and safety audits.
Qualifications & Work Experience:
- Diploma in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, or equivalent.
- Preferably 3 years of relevant rail industry experience.
- Open to candidates with no experience.
- Ability to work on a 3-shift rotating schedule.
- Class 3 driving license is an advantage.
