Job summary

Google is seeking software engineers to work on Wallet Native App development and scalable production infrastructure for vehicle OEMs. You will contribute to optimizations in user journeys and help digitize the physical wallet, with emphasis on payments, NFC, and secure credentials.

The role involves collaborating with OEMs and platform teams to design APIs, interface with device hardware, and ensure robust, scalable wallet features across Google Wallet and Google Pay ecosystems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Java, Kotlin).
• 2 years of experience with Android application development.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Android device manufacturers (OEMs) and Vehicle manufacturer partners (vOEMs) to enable Wallet features on various device types, including wearables and devices with RTOS.
• Develop and scale secure digital credentials for transit, access control, and automotive keys within Google Wallet.
• Collaborate with Android platform teams to design and implement new APIs and capabilities that enhance Wallet functionality and security.
• Work with Product Managers, UX Designers, Technical Program Managers, Business Development, Legal, and other engineering teams within Wallet and across Google. Engage with external partners to define requirements, troubleshoot issues, and launch new integrations.
• Develop software that interfaces with device hardware like NFC controllers, Secure Elements, and biometric sensors.

• Collaborate with Android device manufacturers (OEMs) and Vehicle manufacturer partners (vOEMs) to enable Wallet features on various device types, including wearables and devices with Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS).
• Develop and scale secure digital credentials for transit, access control (campus, corporate, and residential), and automotive keys within Google Wallet.
• Collaborate with Android platform teams to design and implement new APIs and capabilities that enhance Wallet functionality and security.
• Work with Product Managers, UX Designers, Technical Program Managers, Business Development, Legal, and other engineering teams within Wallet and across Google. Engage with external partners to define requirements, troubleshoot issues, and launch new integrations.
• Develop software that interfaces with device hardware like NFC controllers, Secure Elements, and biometric sensors.
