Job summary

Vocalbeats is seeking a mobile-focused engineer to design, build, and deliver high-quality features for a global user base. You will collaborate with product, design, QA, and backend teams to prototype and ship Flutter-based apps across iOS and Android, while emphasizing performance and user experience in demanding network environments.

The role requires 3+ years in mobile development, strong Flutter skills, and a passion for AI-enhanced tooling.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of real-world experience in mobile app development (iOS or Android).
• Proficient in Flutter cross-platform development with a strong track record of shipping fast, iterative applications.
• Deep understanding of multithreading programming, offline storage, socket/network communication (TCP/IP, WebSocket, HTTP), and client-side performance tuning (CPU, memory, battery, rendering).
• Familiar with common mobile architecture patterns (MVVM, VIPER, MVC/MVP, etc.) and deep understanding of the internals of popular open-source libraries.
• Exceptional problem-solving skills, critical thinking, and a strong sense of ownership to tackle complex technical challenges in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• End-to-End POC Delivery: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to rapidly design, build, and deliver high-quality mobile features and interactive prototypes, driving user experience and quick market validation.
• AI-Driven Productivity: Leverage AI coding assistants to multiply development output, review, refactor, and debug AI-generated code.
• Spec-Driven Prompting: Maintain a specification-driven development mindset, guiding AI tools with high-quality prompts to generate business code that adheres to project standards.
• Performance & Experience Optimization: Manage client-side memory, smooth rendering/animations, battery usage, and high-concurrency real-time communications for a global network.
• Production Support & Troubleshooting: Debug and resolve production issues with global teams.
• Architecture & Engineering: Contribute to framework evolution, conduct code reviews, and document technical details.

Key Responsibilities

• Spec-Driven Prompting: Maintain a specification-driven development mindset, guiding AI tools with high-quality prompts to generate business code that strictly adheres to project standards.
• Performance & Experience Optimization: Take responsibility for client-side memory management, smooth rendering/animations, battery consumption optimization, and high-concurrency WebSocket/Socket real-time communications to ensure an exceptional experience in complex global network environments.
• Production Support & Troubleshooting: Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve critical production issues efficiently, collaborating with global teams and stakeholders.
• Architecture & Engineering: Participate in the evolution of frameworks and core components, conduct high-quality code reviews, and author clean technical documentation.

Job Requirements

• 3+ years of real-world experience in mobile app development (iOS or Android).
• Proficient in Flutter cross-platform development with a strong track record of shipping fast, iterative applications.
• Deep understanding of multithreading programming, offline storage, socket/network communication (TCP/IP, WebSocket, HTTP), and client-side performance tuning (CPU, memory, battery, rendering).
• Familiar with common mobile architecture patterns (MVVM, VIPER, MVC/MVP, etc.) and deep understanding of the internals of popular open-source libraries.
• Exceptional problem-solving skills, critical thinking, and a strong sense of ownership to tackle complex technical challenges in a fast-paced environment.

Platform-Specific Deep Dives (Must be proficient in at least one native stack to support Flutter integration and deep platform features)

• Proficient in Objective-C and Swift.
• Solid experience with iOS frameworks such as AVFoundation, Core Animation, and modularization/private SDK development via CocoaPods.
• Proficient in Java and Kotlin, with a deep understanding of multithreading and Kotlin Coroutines.
• Strong experience with Android frameworks like Jetpack, Compose, IPC, SQLite, and Architecture Components.

Preferred Qualifications

• AI-Assisted Engineering: Outstanding ability to use Cursor, Claude Code, or GitHub Copilot to significantly accelerate daily development, combined with strong code review skills to ensure security and code quality.
• AI Product Experience: Real-world experience building or integrating AI-native applications (e.g., chat agents, generative AI tools, LLM features, local AI models) is highly preferred.
• AI & Multimedia Integration: Experience or strong interest in client-side AI models (CoreML, TensorFlow Lite, local LLM inference) or multimedia processing (audio/video rendering, real-time voice filters, TTS).
• Global Collaboration: Outstanding written and verbal communication skills in English to collaborate with counterparts from global teams. Mandarin is a plus.
