Midnight Shift Operations Manager

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee all operational activities during midnight hours to ensure 100% compliance with company policies, safety standards, and productivity targets.
- Manage multiple departments simultaneously (logistics, production, security, customer service, and facilities) with limited resources and minimal senior-level support.
- Anticipate, troubleshoot, and resolve complex operational disruptions (e.g., system downtime, staffing shortages, supply chain delays) in real time.
- Conduct rapid decision-making under pressure with full accountability for outcomes.
- Generate detailed shift performance reports with actionable insights for executive management.
- Enforce strict discipline, punctuality, and performance standards across midnight staff.
- Ensure compliance with all legal, safety, and regulatory requirements without exception.
- Lead emergency response planning and execution (fires, accidents, system failures, or other crises).
- Mentor, evaluate, and train midnight staff, instilling a culture of accountability and excellence.
Difficult Job Requirements
- Education: Master’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Engineering, or related field (MBA strongly preferred).
- Experience: Minimum 10+ years of operations management experience, with at least 5 years in 24/7 critical environments (e.g., manufacturing plants, logistics hubs, hospitals, or security-sensitive industries).
- Leadership: Proven record of successfully leading cross-functional teams of 100+ employees during non-standard working hours.
- Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in ERP systems, data analytics platforms, and crisis management software.
- Certifications: Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, PMP (Project Management Professional), and OSHA safety certification required.
- Stress Management: Demonstrated ability to sustain high performance while working long hours under sleep-deprived, high-stress conditions.
- Decision-Making: History of making rapid, high-impact operational decisions with minimal supervision or escalation.
- Compliance Expertise: Strong knowledge of ISO standards, labor laws, environmental regulations, and industry-specific compliance frameworks.
- Physical & Mental Resilience: Must be capable of remaining alert, decisive, and effective during extended overnight shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Communication: Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to draft detailed executive-level reports and provide authoritative instructions to frontline staff.
