Job summary

Clera in Singapore is seeking an engineering professional to own urgent deployment tasks for AI research and data vendors. You will diagnose ambiguous requests, build tools, and partner with research and GTM teams to unblock deployments across time zones.

Required are 2–4 years in applied research or forward-deployed roles, plus proficiency in Python, Docker, and Linux, with strong debugging skills and a track record of deploying solutions for customers and vendors.

About the Role

Join a small engineering team at an early-stage AI evaluation infrastructure company. You will take ownership of urgent, ambiguous technical challenges for AI research organizations and data vendors, helping unblock deployments while turning recurring problems into reusable tools and processes.

What You'll Do

• Own technical deployment requests from initial triage through resolution.

• Clarify ambiguous requests, diagnose problems, and identify practical solutions.

• Build tools and one-off pipelines to address urgent customer, partner, and internal needs.

• Work with research and go-to-market teams to unblock deployments.

• Balance fast turnaround with quality, correctness, and appropriate security care.

• Document recurring issues and automate manual work into reusable tools or processes.

What We're Looking For

• Two to four years of experience in applied research engineering, forward-deployed engineering, or a similar hands-on technical role.

• Research engineering experience alongside experience in forward-deployed work.

• Proficiency with Python, Docker, and Linux environments.

• Experience with benchmarks and evaluations for reinforcement learning training data and AI agents, including judgment about realistic tasks, reliable rubrics, and useful training trajectories.

• Strong debugging skills across code, data, and environments, with the ability to work independently in ambiguous situations.

• Experience owning technical deployments, building solutions for urgent issues, and working directly with technical customers, vendors, or cross-functional teams.

• Clear communication skills and comfort collaborating across time zones in a fast-paced startup environment.

Compensation & Benefits

Annual salary range: USD 100,000 to USD 170,000. Visa sponsorship is available.
