Job summary

Abbott, based in Singapore, is seeking an Associate Microbiologist to ensure microbiological testing and lab activities comply with GMP, cGMP, GLP, GDP, EHS and ISO/IEC 17025. You will lead a team, review results, and support production with micro-related events to maintain product quality.

In this role, you will drive investigations, training, and continuous improvement while coordinating with QA and production teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Diploma with relevant experience in regulated lab/manufacturing environments.
• 3+ years in microbiology lab preferred; strong knowledge of lab techniques.
• Experience leading teams and ensuring GMP/cGMP/GLP compliance.

Responsibilities

• Ensure laboratory safety and GMP/GMP/GLP compliance at all times.
• Lead a team of analysts and manage training/compliance (SAV, BBS, etc.).
• Perform timely review of test results and ensure batch release readiness.
• Participate in batch release meetings and align testing priorities.
• Lead microbiology investigations and root cause analysis; escalate issues.
• Coach analysts in RCA, troubleshooting, and method understanding.
• Oversee test scheduling, resources, and workload prioritization.
• Develop training plans and assess technical competency; train new hires.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, safety and data integrity.
• Support internal and external audits and QA activities.
