Job description

On behalf of a highly reputable and established global trading house, we are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Metals Trading Operations Executive to join their Singapore team. This position plays a crucial role in supporting trading operations, ensuring the seamless execution of physical trades, and maintaining coordination across commercial and logistics functions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Report key operational updates and trade execution status to the Team Lead and Regional Head of Operations.
  • Handle day-to-day operational tasks including trade execution support, documentation, and inventory monitoring.
  • Act as a primary point of contact for both internal stakeholders (traders, middle office, credit, etc.) and external partners (customers, terminals, agents).
  • Coordinate smooth delivery and shipment of cargo, ensuring full compliance with transport regulations across maritime, trucking, and rail.
  • Support the issuance and management of trade documentation, including Letters of Credit and related contractual paperwork.
  • Reconcile product movements, storage positions, and accruals; investigate discrepancies and ensure cost accuracy in internal systems.
  • Participate in team meetings and assist in resolving operational bottlenecks and disputes.
  • Contribute to inventory forecasting and operational planning in alignment with trading strategies.
  • Perform additional operational tasks as assigned in a fast-paced and evolving trading environment.
Candidate Requirements:
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in commodities operations, ideally in metals or dry bulk trading.
  • Strong knowledge of international shipping, trade finance documentation, and cargo operations.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and regions.
  • High level of attention to detail and organizational skills, with a hands-on approach to problem-solving.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and familiar with ERP or trading systems.
