A leading company in drilling services is seeking a Mechanical and Electrical Engineer to oversee MEP coordination and documentation on site. The ideal candidate will possess a relevant engineering degree and minimum 3 years experience, demonstrating leadership and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment. This role requires effective collaboration with subcontractors and stakeholders to ensure project quality and deadlines are met.

Job description

  • Liaise with consultants, client and authorities on all mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) matters.
  • Work with BIM team to get the model ready for construction. Cross check BIM model with contract drawings.
  • Carry out drawing review and coordination among various disciplines within the purview of MEP incorporating into the civil / structural and architectural.
  • Review of shop drawing / materials / MOS submitted by subcontractors.
  • Assist MEP Engineer to manage the documentation and submittals.
  • Review of contract documents and have clear understanding of scope of works.
  • Review of subcontract documents and scope of works.
  • To conduct pre-inspection with subcontractors prior to calling for RE/RTO inspections.
  • Arrange and facilitate RE/RTO inspections.
  • To ensure site works are carried out according to daily / weekly site coordination schedule.
  • Monitoring of VOs and issue back charges in a timely manner.
  • To attend sub-con meetings and technical meetings for MEP related matters
  • Prepare the site for RI(M&E) and TOP inspections.
  • In charge for MEP materials selection / presentation, sample board submission, conducting trade demos and shop drawings submission. Follow up for reviews comments from consultants / client.
  • Take lead in as-built drawings and submission of O&M.
  • Handing over to owners/ town council/ authorities / MA/ etc.
  • Assessment of sub-cons claims / progress claims.
  • Ensure work activities are carried out in safe working environment.
  • Other ad-hoc duties as assigned by the Immediate Supervisor/ Management.

Job Requirements:

  • Degree/Diploma in Electrical & Mechanical Engineering/ Building Service.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Able to lead the sub-contractors to ensure smooth progress of works, high quality standards and minimal defects.
  • Independent, diligent and highly motivated with excellent team spirit.
  • Good knowledge of MEP specifications, standards and BCA quality requirements.
