Medical Laboratory Scientist

This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing hospital diagnostic laboratory involved in the detection of infections using molecular diagnostics, a rapidly growing field. You will be involved in developing, evaluating and performing routine and specialized molecular tests, staff training and supervision, quality improvement and laboratory management duties.

Requirements

  • PhD in Microbiology, Molecular Biology or equivalent
  • MSc in Microbiology, Molecular Biology or equivalent
  • BSc (Hons) in Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Life Sciences or equivalent with at least 3 years work experience using molecular techniques or at least 6 years experience indiagnostic laboratory.
  • Candidate should have experience in developing molecular tests, e.g. polymerase chain reaction.
  • Experience using and developing microbial tests using next generation sequencing is an advantage

Medical Laboratory Technologist

This is an exciting opportunity to join a young and dynamic laboratory involved in the detection of infections using molecular diagnostics, a rapidly growing field. You will be performing routine diagnostic molecular tests using PCR, line probe assays and sequencing as well as quality control activities.

Requirements

  • BSc in Microbiology, Molecular Biology or equivalent
  • Previous experience using molecular techniques and/or working in a diagnostic laboratory is preferred.
