Job summary

The National Neuroscience Institute, Singapore, invites applications for a Medical Laboratory Technologist/Scientist in the Neuroscience Clinical Laboratory at the TTSH Campus. You will perform routine and specialised testing supporting neurological diagnostics, including ELISA, IF, immunoblot, histology, histochemistry and immunohistochemistry.

Qualifications

• Degree in Biomedical Science, Biological Science, Medical Technology or equivalent.
• Experience in a clinical/diagnostic lab, especially immunology, immunoassays or ELISA, is advantageous.
• Immunofluorescence and/or immunoblot techniques experience is a plus.
• Able to work independently after training with attention to detail and accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and specialised laboratory testing for clinical diagnosis (ELISA, IF, immunoblot, histology, histochemistry, IHC).
• Process specimens and participate in quality control and documentation.
• Manage equipment and reagents; contribute to laboratory quality activities and operations.

Job Responsibilities

A Medical Laboratory Technologist / Scientist position is available in the Neuroscience Clinical Laboratory (TTSH Campus) at the National Neuroscience Institute, Singapore.

The Neuroscience Clinical Laboratory provides specialised laboratory services supporting the diagnosis of neurological, neuromuscular and neuroimmunological disorders. Our services include muscle and nerve biopsy histopathology and a range of immunological tests for autoantibodies associated with neurological diseases.

As part of the team, you will perform routine and specialised laboratory testing for clinical diagnosis, including ELISA, immunofluorescence, immunoblot, histology, histochemistry and immunohistochemistry. You will also participate in specimen processing, quality control, equipment and reagent management, documentation, laboratory quality activities and other operational duties required for the delivery of laboratory services.

Job Requirements

• Degree in Biomedical Science, Biological Science, Medical Technology or equivalent.
• Prior experience in a clinical/diagnostic laboratory, particularly in immunology, immunoassays or ELISA, will be an advantage.
• Experience with immunofluorescence and/or immunoblot techniques will be an added advantage.
• Able to work independently after appropriate training and demonstrate good attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Fresh graduates with relevant laboratory training may also be considered.
