Job description

Job Description

  1. Completes all aspects of leukemia-lymphoma immunophenotyping, including sample preparation, staining, acquisition, and data analysis.
  2. Performs quantitative T and B cell subset analysis and CD34 stem cell analysis.
  3. Maintains flow cytometry instrumentation and identifies malfunctions and/or adjustments to minimize machine downtime.
  4. Performs daily quality control checks on the flow cytometer.
  5. Processes and harvests cells for staining from bone marrow, peripheral blood and/or other body fluids.
  6. Helps with administrative duties including general upkeep of lab and equipment procedures, completing proficiency testing, and monitoring proper use and consumption of reagents and consumables.
  7. Relevant training will be provided if necessary. Other responsibilities may include technical validation, quality assurance, and inventory management in compliance with our organization’s technical and safety guidelines.

Job Requirements

  1. The successful candidate will have a biology degree; some flow cytometry experience would be an advantage.
  2. Extended working hours may be required to meet the hospital needs or demands of high workload.
  3. This is a technical support role, so the candidate should have good technical and computer skills, an interest in medical research, disease prevention, understanding, and cure.
