Job summary

Element Materials Technology Singapore Pte Ltd is seeking a Mechanical Technician to join our expanding team in Singapore. This position offers hands-on experience within a Global TIC business and the chance to develop your career through practical testing work.

The ideal candidate holds a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related experience, with a strong mechanical bias and an ability to multi-task in a busy lab environment. Training and development are provided.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or relevant / experience in related (testing laboratory)
• Hands-on job experience
• Sound mechanical bias
• Experience in an engineering environment is advantageous
• Experience in a mechanical testing environment is advantageous
• Understanding of ISO 17025 quality management systems is beneficial
• Self-motivated technician with ability to multi task, organise and work under pressure
• Excellent attention to detail
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Team player attitude
• Excellent analytical and problem solving skills

Responsibilities

• Interpretation of internal and client requirements
• Operating complex mechanical testing equipment
• Maintaining accurate and systematic records
• Performing other duties to fulfil the demands of the laboratory
• Performing general duties in accordance with Element's internal procedures, quality as well as Health and Safety system
• Application of instrumentation and the setting up of complex data capture equipment
• Report writing, data interpretation and analysis

Requirements

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or relevant / experience in related (testing laboratory)
• Hands-on job
• Sound mechanical bias
• Previous experience in an appropriate Engineering environment is a distinct advantage
• Experience of working within a Mechanical testing environment is advantageous
• An understanding of a recognised Quality Management Systems such as ISO 17025 is beneficial
• Self motivated Technician with the ability to multi task, organise and work under the pressure of a busy commercial mechanical test laboratory
