A leading engineering firm in Singapore is seeking a Mechanical Construction Supervisor to oversee the installation of mechanical systems on-site. The ideal candidate will have a diploma in Mechanical Engineering and at least 5 years of relevant experience in mechanical construction. Responsibilities include supervising subcontractors, coordinating with various teams, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.

Job Description & Requirements:

Mechanical Construction Oversight

  • Supervise the installation of mechanical systems and equipment in accordance with project drawings and specifications.

  • Ensure construction works are carried out according to approved work methods and in line with safety and quality requirements.

  • Monitor daily construction progress and address technical or site-related issues promptly.

Coordination & Communication

  • Coordinate with engineering, procurement, QA/QC, EHS, and subcontractors to ensure smooth execution of site activities.

  • Participate in daily coordination meetings and interface discussions with project teams.

  • Provide input on planning and sequencing of mechanical works to optimize site productivity.

Quality & Safety Assurance

  • Conduct inspections and ensure proper installation, alignment, and commissioning of mechanical equipment.

  • Enforce site safety practices and ensure compliance with project safety standards.

  • Report and follow up on any non-conformances, safety incidents, or equipment issues.

Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain site records including daily progress logs, equipment checklists, and inspection reports.

  • Track material usage and manpower allocation.

  • Submit daily and weekly progress reports to the Construction Manager or Project Lead.

Education

  • Diploma or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Construction, or related technical field.

Specialized knowledge/ Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical construction, preferably in offshore or heavy industrial projects.

  • Proven track record supervising subcontractors and mechanical installation teams.

  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems, piping, rotating equipment, and construction drawings.

  • Hands-on and practical approach to supervising mechanical works on-site.

  • Ability to manage site activities and lead a team effectively.

  • Proactive and solutions-focused in addressing technical and coordination issues.

  • Strong leadership, team management, and communication skills.

  • Clear and respectful communicator, able to coordinate with internal teams, clients, and vendors.
