A leading engineering firm in Singapore is seeking a Mechanical Construction Supervisor to oversee the installation of mechanical systems on-site. The ideal candidate will have a diploma in Mechanical Engineering and at least 5 years of relevant experience in mechanical construction. Responsibilities include supervising subcontractors, coordinating with various teams, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
Job Description & Requirements:
Mechanical Construction Oversight
Supervise the installation of mechanical systems and equipment in accordance with project drawings and specifications.
Ensure construction works are carried out according to approved work methods and in line with safety and quality requirements.
Monitor daily construction progress and address technical or site-related issues promptly.
Coordination & Communication
Coordinate with engineering, procurement, QA/QC, EHS, and subcontractors to ensure smooth execution of site activities.
Participate in daily coordination meetings and interface discussions with project teams.
Provide input on planning and sequencing of mechanical works to optimize site productivity.
Quality & Safety Assurance
Conduct inspections and ensure proper installation, alignment, and commissioning of mechanical equipment.
Enforce site safety practices and ensure compliance with project safety standards.
Report and follow up on any non-conformances, safety incidents, or equipment issues.
Documentation & Reporting
Maintain site records including daily progress logs, equipment checklists, and inspection reports.
Track material usage and manpower allocation.
Submit daily and weekly progress reports to the Construction Manager or Project Lead.
Education
Diploma or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Construction, or related technical field.
Specialized knowledge/ Experience
Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical construction, preferably in offshore or heavy industrial projects.
Proven track record supervising subcontractors and mechanical installation teams.
Strong understanding of mechanical systems, piping, rotating equipment, and construction drawings.
Hands-on and practical approach to supervising mechanical works on-site.
Ability to manage site activities and lead a team effectively.
Proactive and solutions-focused in addressing technical and coordination issues.
Strong leadership, team management, and communication skills.
Clear and respectful communicator, able to coordinate with internal teams, clients, and vendors.
Adaptable to changing site conditions and project priorities.
Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to safety, quality, and timely delivery.
