Job description

Responsibilities and Duties

1. Develop a deep understanding of design specifications based on customer requirements, organizational goals, and business strategies. Conceptualize and develop solutions based on project requirements and company standards through simulations and modeling to support design concepts.
2. Develop design specification sheets with relevant information related to the project, update as necessary, and distribute to relevant parties.
3. Carry out detailed cycle time studies for individual modules to select appropriate machine or module designs. Develop 3D models of the assigned machines and modules with optimized designs for manufacturing, cost, quality, and safety.
4. Initiate and conduct internal design reviews to share and explain completed modules with other departments.
5. Initiate and conduct design reviews with customers according to the project schedule.
6. Revise designs and documents based on internal and external reviews.
7. Create and update flow charts for modules or entire machines.
8. Create part and assembly drawings based on approved designs and obtain approval from the department manager.
9. Create Bill of Materials (BOM) for assigned modules based on the design schedule.
10. Create drawing release files and send drawings for quotations.
11. Send out standard part lists for quotations based on BOM.
12. Receive quotations, compare prices, and prepare a price comparison spreadsheet.
13. Raise Purchase Requests (PR), obtain department manager approval, and send to the Purchasing department for negotiation and ordering.
14. Support any design issues during fabrication and assembly stages promptly.
15. Make necessary modifications, update designs and drawings, and get approval from the department manager.
16. Release revised drawings to suppliers and the internal assembly team.
17. Support the machine assembly team as needed, including setup and fine-tuning of machines.
18. Complete all activities according to the project schedule.
19. Maintain quality standards while staying updated on relevant technologies and best practices, and uphold company policies, internal, and customer standards for machine building and safety.
20. Develop, train, and guide junior engineers, provide technical direction, and act as a liaison between customers and the company.
