A leading company is seeking a skilled technician to perform disassembly, repairs, and evaluations to restore product functionality. The role involves troubleshooting failures and maintaining technical documentation in collaboration with engineering teams. Ideal candidates should have a solid grasp of electro-mechanical systems and be proficient with related software tools.
Core Responsibilities:
Capture detailed disassembly photos for documentation as requested by customers.
Perform disassembly to support cost estimation, including reviewing parts lists and standard replacement components.
Assemble products using both new and reusable parts.
Conduct flat-rate and time & material repairs, basic disassembly, and component evaluations to restore product functionality.
Troubleshoot and identify root causes of product failures, comparing findings against standards and escalating when necessary.
Assist in setting up repairs and functional tests.
Communicate evaluation results to testers through written documentation and/or images.
Support Functions:
Provide technical input regarding the usability of obsolete products transitioning to replacements.
Monitor inventory levels of repair parts and coordinate with the repair team for stock replenishment.
Collaborate with customer service to address inquiries, including gathering material and labor data from internal systems.
Participate in engineering assessments for repair or remanufacturing decisions.
Work with engineering teams to define repair strategies and scopes.
Skills & Knowledge:
Ability to diagnose product conditions using acceptance criteria or historical data.
Proficient in following work instructions via various formats (PowerPoint, MIS, EFMS, BDDS, APs).
Basic understanding of root cause analysis and failure investigation tools.
Familiarity with technical documentation such as schematics, build books, and bills of materials.
Competent in using computer systems and software (e.g., EFMS, WISE) for documentation and tracking.
Solid knowledge of electro-mechanical systems and hydraulics.
Ability to suggest improvements to work instructions and assembly documentation.
