A leading recruitment agency in Singapore is looking for a Mechanical Project Engineer to manage and oversee mechanical engineering projects for chemical plants. This role involves coordinating with vendors and internal teams to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget. Location: Jurong Island (Company transport from Jurong East)
Working Hours: Mon – Fri, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Site Allowance: $200/month
Employment Type: Permanent
Overseas Assignment: Must be willing to relocate overseas for long-term (e.g., Japan, US, Germany) when required
You will manage and oversee mechanical engineering projects for chemical plants from start (design phase) to finish (construction, commissioning, and handover). You'll coordinate with contractors, vendors, and internal teams to ensure the project is completed on time, within budget, and to quality standards.
Manage full project lifecycle: design, construction, commissioning, and handover
Review technical drawings, requirements, and resolve on-site issues
Plan and monitor project progress, schedule, and budget
Ensure safety compliance and supervise site work
Coordinate across different teams: engineering, contractors, vendors
Attend site inspections and vendor workshops
Prepare project reports and documentation
Identify and manage risks with backup plans
Support and ensure team collaboration and communication
Degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering (or related field)
0–3 years of experience (Entry Level welcome)
Willing to learn and work overseas for long-term assignments
Understanding of mechanical engineering codes (ASME, API, TEMA) and standards (Singapore & international)
Good problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills
Able to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
Proficient in project management tools (e.g., MS Project)
Digital skills in Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Power BI, SQL
Able to work beyond normal hours when needed
