A leading company in the chemical sector is seeking a skilled mechanical technician for maintenance, repair, and installation of equipment on Jurong Island, Singapore. Ideal candidates will have a diploma in Mechanical Engineering and several years of experience in a similar role. Responsibilities include conducting maintenance, troubleshooting, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. Candidates must be able to interpret engineering drawings and perform mechanical repairs effectively.
Salary: $1800-$3600
Working Date: 5 Working Days
Working Time: 8.30am-5.15pm

Objective:
Perform maintenance, repair, and installation of mechanical equipment in a chemical/petrochemical facility, ensuring operational reliability, safety, and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Mechanical Maintenance & Troubleshooting
-Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance on pumps, compressors, valves, gearboxes, etc.
-Perform precision alignment, balancing, and overhauls per OEM standards.
-Use diagnostic tools (e.g., vibration analyzers, ultrasonic detectors) for fault detection.
-Respond to equipment breakdowns and carry out root cause analysis and repairs.
2. Installation & Project Support
-Assist in installation, retrofitting, and commissioning of mechanical equipment.
-Support mechanical tie-ins, turnarounds, and shutdown activities.
Interpret mechanical drawings, isometrics, and P&IDs accurately.
3. Safety, Compliance & Documentation
-Comply with EHS procedures (PTW, LOTO, CSE) and statutory regulations (MOM, SCDF, NEA).
-Participate in JSA and toolbox meetings to ensure safe work practices.
-Maintain accurate maintenance records in CMMS (e.g., SAP/eMaint) and report safety incidents promptly.
Requirement
1.Education & Certifications
-NITEC / Higher NITEC / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
-Valid Safety Orientation Course (SOC) certificates are advantageous.
-Forklift / MEWP / Rigging certifications are advantageous.
2.Experience
-3-5 years of mechanical maintenance experience in a chemical, petrochemical, or oil & gas facility, preferably on Jurong Island.
-Familiar with rotating equipment maintenance and piping systems.
3.Skills
-Ability to read engineering drawings and mechanical schematics.
-Hands-on skills with mechanical alignment, torquing, and flange management.
-Knowledge of API/ASME standards and basic condition monitoring.
