A leading company in Singapore is seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Technician. Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of mechanical maintenance experience in chemical or petrochemical facilities.
  • Valid Safety Orientation Course (SOC) certificates are advantageous.
  • Familiar with rotating equipment maintenance and piping systems.

Responsibilities

Job description

Key Responsibilities
Mechanical Maintenance

- Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance of rotating and static equipment (e.g., pumps, compressors, agitators, gearboxes, valves, piping).

- Perform precision alignment, balancing, and equipment overhauls in accordance with OEM standards.

- Use diagnostic tools such as vibration analyzers and ultrasonic leak detectors.

Troubleshooting & Repair

- Respond to breakdowns swiftly and perform root cause analysis.

- Replace or repair defective parts using hand tools, power tools, and lifting equipment.

- Work from mechanical drawings, isometrics, and P&IDs.

Installation & Project Support

- Support equipment installation, retrofits, and commissioning activities.

- Assist project teams with mechanical tie-ins and turnaround jobs.

Safety & Compliance

- Adhere to site EHS policies including Permit-to-Work (PTW), Lockout-Tagout (LOTO), and Confined Space Entry (CSE).

- Ensure work activities comply with MOM, WSH Act, SCDF, and other statutory regulations.

- Participate in Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and Toolbox meetings.

Documentation

- Maintain accurate maintenance logs and update records in CMMS (e.g., SAP/eMaint).

- Report defects, near-misses, and unsafe conditions promptly.

Skills

- Ability to read engineering drawings and mechanical schematics.

- Hands-on skills with mechanical alignment, torqueing, and flange management.

- Knowledge of API/ASME standards and basic condition monitoring.

Requirements
Education & Certifications

- NITEC / Higher NITEC / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related field.

- Valid Safety Orientation Course (SOC) certificates are advantageous.

- Forklift / MEWP / Rigging certifications are advantageous.

- 3–5 years of mechanical maintenance experience in a chemical, petrochemical, or oil & gas facility, preferably on Jurong Island.

- Familiar with rotating equipment maintenance and piping systems.
