Job Description
- Work on incremental development of existing modules to increase reliability, reduce costs and ease manufacturing, assembly and maintenance.
- Investigate engineering change requests and implement design changes.
- Investigate, evaluate and qualify replacement(s) for end-of-life (EOL) components.
- Supports customization project requests from customer project managers, provide assessment (feasibility, concept, risks) and design proposals for stakeholders.
- Abide design to cost principles in any aspects, while conforming to safety requirements and international machine product standards.
- Create 3D modules and BOM´s incl. 2D drawings following the standards and design rules.
- Work closely with other disciplines (electronics / software / supply chain) to meet project objectives.
- Ensure fast response to production and customer issues
Requirements Education
BSc degree in Mechanical / Mechatronics engineering
Work experience
- At least 3-5 years relevant experience in automation / equipment industries.
- Significant practical experience in mechanical engineering, assembly and testing.
Expertise and methodology
- Proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g. ProEngineer/Creo)
- Experience with PDM/PLM software (PTC Windchill or Agile).
- Proven problem solving skills
- Understanding of cost drivers within manufacturing and across the supply chain
- Good knowledge of mechanical parts evaluation and qualification
- Understanding of assembly procedures of complex mechatronic systems
