A leading company in the electronics sector is seeking a Mechanical Designer to work on electro-mechanical subsystems. You will be responsible for creating technical designs, collaborating with teams, and ensuring project specifications are met. Job responsibilities:
Perform design of electro-mechanical subsystems, micro-mechanisms and transmission systems
Work with the Manufacturing team and part suppliers throughout the product cycle in a fast-paced environment
Coordinate Fabrication and Assembly of prototype designed and pilot run articles
Perform FMEA & carry out other design simulation required
Review and evaluate vendors for performance
Use computer-aided design software to create 2D technical drawings from 3D files
Handle assignments under minimal supervision and tight schedule
Participate in project meetings and conference calls with customers
Work with customers regarding accuracy, drafting standards and documentation
Review drawings for completeness and accuracy
Prepare engineering documents for submission to customers
Maintain all revisions of project drawings, update and maintain drafting log
Assist and provide all information to Sales team for quotation submission to customers
Provide timely technical assistance and solutions to Production team
Responsible for liaising with customers to gather and confirm technical requirements, including dimensions, tolerances, materials, critical areas, and inspection methods. Review and revise assembly drawings, BOM lists, and purchased part specifications based on discussions. Ensure all updates are accurately reflected in technical drafts and communicated to internal teams.
Perform any other duties as assigned by the Company
Job Requirements:
Minimum Qualification: Degree/ Diploma in Mechanical discipline
Good team player with strong passion for design
Proficient in using CAD tools like Solidworks and other simulation tools
Simulation tools & programing skills (eg. Python) is added advantage.
At least 2 years experience
